October Miles: For Cookie
After six months of training and 26.2 marathon miles, Justine dedicated this month’s miles to none other than Cookie herself.

September Miles: For Dr. Linda T. Vahdat
We were honored to dedicate our September miles to one of Cookie's many extraordinary doctors, Dr. Linda Vahdat, and her research on triple-negative breast cancer. Dr. Vahdat, in addition to Dr. Mark Rosenberg, has been using groundbreaking therapies such as TM (Ammonium Tetrathiomolybdate) to help her patients manage their symptoms and minimize their risk of recurrence. TM helped our mom live an incredibly full life, and we’re grateful that 100% of the funds we raise through Cookie’s Case will go directly to Dr. Vahdat's research. Please read more about her innovative approach and the life-changing research she’s conducting to make TNBC “a manageable, chronic disease—not a fatal one.”

August Miles: For Cookie’s Physician Assistants
In continuation of our July miles, we were excited to dedicate our August miles to another part of Cookie's team at Memorial Sloan Kettering: her physician assistants. Please read about how these incredible individuals made a lasting impact on our family, and for an exciting marathon update for 2020!

July Miles: For Cookie’s Nurses
Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSK) is not simply one of the leading hospitals in developing cutting-edge cancer treatments: its model of compassionate care delivered by amazing staff members truly puts it into a league of its own. For the month of July, we dedicated our miles to the incredible team of nurses who helped care for Cookie in MSK’s breast-cancer unit. Read more about the many hats these nurses wear, and how much of an impact they had on our mom and family.

June Miles: For Our Dad
In this month’s blog series and in honor of Father’s Day, we decided to dedicate our June miles to our dad, Larry. In addition, we give an update on the NYC Marathon and decisions made due to COVID-19.

May Miles: For All Mothers
Through our Why We Run blog series, we are honored to share stories and dedicate our training miles to those who have inspired us on our journey towards the New York City Marathon. In May, we ran for all mothers and families faced with cancer, especially with it being our first Mother’s Day without our mom here.
